Charlotte Rotterdam, MTS, is an Instructor in Naropa University’s Core College and the Director of Naropa University’s Center for the Advancement of Contemplative Education (CACE). She taught in the Graduate Religious Studies department from 2002-2004 and has been teaching the Contemplative Learning Seminar and First Year Seminar in the Core College since 2008. A student of Tibetan Buddhism for over 20 years, she was authorized to teach by Lama Tsultrim Allione in 2006 and received the title of Magyu Lopön (lead teacher of Magyu: the Mother Lineage at Tara Mandala) in 2016. Charlotte teaches meditation, Feeding your Demons, and Tibetan Buddhist practices in the U.S. and abroad, and served as Executive Director and Board President of Tara Mandala Buddhist Retreat Center for many years. Together with her husband, she leads the Boulder Tara Mandala sangha. Charlotte received her Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Her essays on the intersection of spiritual practice and motherhood have been published in Mandala and in an anthology, Fearless Nest.
